March 2013 – Production beginning this summer
We are in the process of building out our production facilities and are pleased to announce that Overshores Brewing Co. will be producing its three signature beers—the Simpel, the Tripel Brun, and the Belgique du Noire—for shipment beginning in the second half of this year.
Overshores beer has been long awaited by beer connoisseurs around state since the start-up debuted at the 2011 CPTV Craft Beer and Chili Challenge and stood out as the third place finisher in a field of over 70 breweries, including a number of true Belgian imports. In 2012, Overshores returned to the event and was awarded first place, beating over 85 other established breweries.
“After several years of refining our product line and securing financing, we are thrilled to have moved to East Haven and begun the build-out of our production facility,” said Christian Amport, founder and president of Overshores Brewing Co. “Our Belgian style beer has received such a warm welcome in Connecticut and it is satisfying to know that in a few short months people will be able to purchase it directly from their local bar or liquor store.”
Jan. 2013 – Closed on out State Funding!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve finally closed on our start up loan from the State of Connecticut.
It is so exciting to see the kind of support we’re getting from the state in order to create jobs and bring this amazing beer to our fans in Connecticut and beyond!
Dec. 2012 – New Location!
We have a real brewery, folks! We have signed a lease for an 11,000 sf facility in East Haven, CT that will be the new official home for Overshores Brewing Co.!
The place is perfect. It has a loading dock, an on-grade entry, well water, it is on sewer, it already has space built out for a shop in the front as well as a tasting room. It is super sweet.
Stay tuned for news on our grand opening. Probably will be late spring/ early summer.
